What is Google Play
Google Play is just what we used to call the Android Market first where all Android users download apps for their Smart Phones.
The problem here was about distribution of services that included the books, movie rental and music service along within apps to the app store. So, Google had to rename it from Android Market to Google Play along with the logo.
What so special about Google Play?
There have not been major changes to Google Play except the new icon, name of the store and some additional services. These changes also include the Google Play Movies section instead of the video tab that used to show films for rental. There is even Google Play Books where you can search for books to reads of your choices. There have been no modifications on the previous content but just the new logo.
What is Google Play Syncing?
By using this feature Google ensures that all of you favorite music, movies, books, apps, games are accessible from one place and any Android device. All this is very useful, however they could have done it even without rebranding it. With this new name and features Google is making clear that they are making this store a complete cloud based store, which is based on total Android experience where you can read books, rent a movie that you requested from your Android Smartphone. Google’s ditching of Android Market name means making the new content from store available for non-Android users also. The Website’s videos and books can be viewed from desktop too. So if you fancy using all this on big screen just get on your lappy and get going.

Google Play app has also been added with additions to the update. Now there is an ‘All’ tab in the downloaded apps page that allows to view all the downloaded apps right from the first day you had downloaded your first app. It also gives you users reviews on the app that you see. Now it is very easy to download the best app you want. You can also filter the feedback posted by other Android uses who owns the same Android phone that you are using, making it very easy to get only quality reviews of the apps that you wanted to use.
